Question 1: Why are you running for the Park County School District 6 Board of Education?

I have loved the work for the last 4 years, and look forward to the next 4 with our new Superintendent.

Question 2: What are you top three priorities for Park 6?

1 - Support Teachers so that they can work with students and families to close the COVID learning gap.

2- Continue to work with Superintendent Orndorff to build relationships with staff so that we may all work as a team to create the highest achieving Scholars possible.

3- Continue to bulk up our CTE Program - encourage more students to explore options outside of a college centered post-graduation plan. This would include supports for students entering the Armed Forces, Trade Schools, or going straight into the job market.

Question 3: How will you develop a strong staff across Park 6?

By continuing the work this Board set out on 4 years ago, working with staff, breaking down barriers and building support for staff that needs it. Changing the culture of Park6 to positive from punitive. Most importantly- by showing up, listening and being part of the team.

Question 4: How would you determine the budget priorities?

Student needs always come first. Facilitating high quality educational delivery means that sometimes there are increased staffing needs, or building needs. As the board we take guidance from our Staff as to what their needs are instead of just slashing numbers on a sheet of paper. Strong communication helps identify the needs and priorities, this is led by our staff.

Question 5: If elected, how will you be an effective school board trustee?

I will continue to seek out training whenever possible, take input and questions from staff, as well as focus on improving the District not just for Students but also for Staff. My current work should be an indication of how I plan to work going forward, except this time I have the experience and training under my best to be an even more effective Trustee.
